I've learned that it's possible to make shifts toward healthier living as we age and I'm passionate about supporting you on your personal wellness journey.

Hi, I'm Kathy Damas. Be Light Health Coaching happily alchemizes a variety of my life's ingredients, including:

  • a lifelong interest in wellness;
  • experiences as a biologist;
  • lessons from becoming a late-blooming runner;
  • a keen sense of curiosity; and,
  • a gift of encouragement.

Connecting and being of service as you reach your goals is what lights me up.  With loads of support and zero judgement, I'm here to help you!

 

When I turned 50 I didn't like what I was seeing or feeling in my middle-aged body. Up until then I thought I hated to run, but I decided to challenge that assumption out of curiosity. I joined an online running group for beginners training for their first half marathon even though I was pretty sure I wouldn't successfully achieve that distance goal.
I loved being an active participant in that group, which provided caring support, accountability, and reminders that small steps count. Nearly five years and three half-marathons (and many pounds) later, I understand what it’s like to take on a goal that feels out of reach and the thrill of achieving something that's daunting. 

 

I'm a big believer in balance and the 80/20 rule: We do our best AND we are realistic and kind to ourselves in our day-to-day health choices. We're all "perfectly imperfect" and life is supposed to be FUN! (Please pass the [organic] chips!)
